After being a weekend visitor in the 1990s, climbing the cliffs and running the trails of the Mohonk Preserve, Carol chose Gardiner as her home in 2002. Attracted by the exquisite landscape with its unique ecology, Carol is committed to protecting this legacy and preserving Gardiner’s rural character and environment for future generations. To this end, Carol has served on Gardiner’s ECC from 2008 to 2014, including holding the position of Chair for a two-year term. Since then, she has been a Planning Board member.
Carol was an artist and graphic designer before her law career, holding a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and an MA from NYU. As a lawyer, Carol has practiced public-interest law including environmental law, employment law, landlord-tenant law (representing tenants), matrimonial and family court cases (representing domestic violence victims), foreclosure cases (representing borrowers), and bankruptcy court (representing debtors). Carol will bring to the Town Board her experience as a lawyer to help protect the biodiversity and ecology of high-priority land, vitalize Gardiner’s business center and family farms, increase green infrastructure, and promote smart development and affordable, inclusive housing.
